Each of the articles on this site portray him in generally a negative light, whether it be his debate appearance or lack of political activism in recent years. They point out that the political scene has changed since 1995 when he was last in active campaign. I agree that he will have to adjust his style of campaigning from a down south country boy to a more respectable national leader with legitimate views and stands on issues. Following the unpopularity of George Bush, Thompson will no longer be able to rely on the appeal of a Southern boy campaigning from the back of a red pick-up truck. I am interested in seeing how he chooses to carry-out a modern plan of campaigning while dealing with his dominating competitors like Giuliani.

Giuliani’s strong stance on immagration will set him apart from many of the candidates in the 2008 election. I respect his stance on the issue of stoping immagration and requiring people to have some form of identifiaction, but the way his is going about it is obscured. My question to Giuliani is how long and how much money would his programs take? Giving a uniform identification card to every forgeing worker and getting all their information into a database may be a difficult task. I agree on the stance that Giuliani made that he would deport any illegal alien who committed a felony because it warns the illegals that if they aren’t in our country to make it better, then they shouldn’t be allowed. These programs take time and effort, but they may be the only ways to go about this task.

November 1st, 2007 at 2:56 am editPatrick, Micheal, Robert, Tiffany, Madeline Per 7 Project extra CreditThe following video was on Barack’s plans in 08, and was released in January of this year.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5h95s0OuEg
We thought it was good how Barack appeared confident and spoke well. It was interesting to note that he claimed to offer a different way for politics, and also that he would appeal a lot on the grassroots level.

In this following article, Barack vows to make a stand against hilary. Earlier, he had questioned some of her statements, but was hesitant in being too forceful. The article was written just before the Democratic debate that took place on October 30th.
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/28/us/politics/28obama.html?_r=2&pagewanted=2&hp&oref=slogin
Comments:
Robert – Down with Hillary! At least someone is attacking her…
Madeline – This article provided a lot of information on the differnences between the Democratic candidates, and showed how they clashed
Tiffany – This article showed an aggressive side of Obama, along with the debate, which probably leads to some viewing him as a strong debater.
Patrick – In yesterday’s Democratic debate, Barack and John Edwards particularly questioned Hillary Clinton’s honesty. It was entertaining, and seemed as if Barack stuck with his claim. Still, it didn’t seem to harm Hillary much, as she appeared composed throughout the debate.
Micheal – I don’t know if it’s such a good idea to have inner party disputes, and it probably won’t reflect well for whoever is running for the presidency in the future.
