While Hillary and Obama broadcast that they will be the “first” something, Romney is considered to be the “perfect” image of a president as molded by leaders of the past. This video is an excellent example of not only Romney’s composed and articulate nature, but also of his ability to mold together the occasion of MLK day to profess his respect for Dr. King, but also find a way to mention his father (who represents Romney’s over-qualified mentor in politics and law) to accredit him for his “march” with Dr. King and in turn add respectability to his past and further his qualification as a leader.

This is Romney’s plan for an economic stimulus if he makes office. He talks all about the tax cuts that he plans to make, describing how it will help the country, but not once does he say where he plans to get the money to make these tax cuts. What programs will he have to cut in order to make these tax cuts possible? Or does he just plan to let the country go furthur into debt?

I just finished watching the GOP debate in Florida. I thought Romeny might have come away with a victory from that. But I was interested to see how much he focused on the Democratic stances as opposed to his own, in particular Hilary’s. In the past it had pretty much just been them debating each other and leaving the Democrats out of the whole thing. But this time all the candidates (with the exception of Ron Paul) focused more on the opposing party’s stances.
After watching this and the Democratic debate a couple of days ago (of course not accounting for any unforeseen outcomes from Florida) I think that Guliani is out, and so is Paul for that matter. It’s going to be a pretty close contest between Romney and McCain. Both are strong though Romeny seems to attract more traditional conservatives whereas McCain seems to come across almost liberal in his views (which will help him attract moderates) to many strict Republican conservatives.
